Bullet-point form; sorry; I may fill in later.

* left my parents' yesterday after an early lunch at a Thai place down the street.
* the drive through the Adirondacks was pretty, but Vermont has been gorgeous.
* I seem to have slept 11 hours last night
* our suite overlooks a babbling river, has a full kitchen, a wonderful bed.. and more taxidermy than I ever wanted to wake up staring at. The room has four mounted deer-heads, one wolf, one boar, and 2 deer-hoof lampshades.
* Apple waffles for breakfast.
* Today consisted of country drives, mountain roads, a bit of hiking, pretty towns with no open restaurants, and a bit of local color in addition to the trees. Did not successfully shop for cheese. Snacked on the cheese we found yesterday. Yum.
* Almost got clobbered by a 12-tired tractor coming down the middle of a tiny road. Whee!

Now, I hope, a quick nap.

I sit corrected: *Did* successfully buy cheese today! You were sneaky about it, while I was looking at the bizarre stuff in the back of the shop. :)

What kind? One can never have enough cheese.

We have three cheeses!

"Cabot Clothbound Cheddar" - very strong, would make excellent mac and cheese, in much larger quantities than we bought;

"Jasper Hill Farm Moses Sleeper" - a soft cow cheese, grassy tasting, with a yummy rind;

and "Boston Post Dairy Chèvre Onion Dill Blend" - practically a cream cheese; was great spread on crackers and bread.

It is possible we have too much cheese, as we didn't finish it in Vermont, and now we are in a room with no fridge. (perhaps we will have a snack later tonight; I'd offer it to other wedding guests, but nobody else is around...)

Now I want a vacation that is not a medical leave.

Vermont... suite with full kitchen and excessive taxidermy that overlooks a babbling river... apple waffles... I am pretty sure you're staying in the exact same room that my wife and I stayed in on our honeymoon!

The Mexican restaurant across the street and a few doors down is pretty good, FYI.

Whoa. That's kind of funny.

There were honeymooners at the inn. We were not among them.

That is super. I'm grinning ear to ear about this.

We enjoyed ourselves there. They certainly went all-out to make us happy. If you've seen "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Meltdown", you might get why dan dubbed the place "Mambo Inn."

And now? Tonight, we're in Essex MA, for dan's friend Daniele's wedding tomorrow, and Sunday we're driving a long-haul back home again. We were just talking about how it would've been great if we could see you guys on this visit, but I'm having a "if it's Tuesday this must be Belgium" moment... Hope to see you soon! Hi to all. :)
